âYou kissed?â Liam asks with surprise all over his face.
âYep,â I say casually. âNow we can all move on.â
He scratches the back of his neck and steals a quick passive look at Mia before looking back at me. âYou sure?â
âAbsolutely.â
He blows out a long breath, eventually dropping his arms around me and nuzzling into my neck. âI love you.â
I laugh and move my arms around his neck to hug him back. Iâm about to reply when someone I hadnât expected to see steps into view. Grimm. Itâs not that he wasnât invited to come with us. I sent a mass text to the group chat we are all a part of. Itâs the fact heâs here because he never comes on these types of things.
Iâm happy heâs here, but itâs weird after he watched me and Liam in the living room . . . My cheeks bloom at the memory. I donât know what came over me that day, but him being there, watching like he couldnât leave even if he wanted to . . . it was hot.
Thatâs why my stomach clenches at the sight of him. He looks nice, but Grimm is always dressed to impress. Impress me at least. I love that his favorite color is black, and he wears nothing but, maybe some white in the mix, but thatâs not often. Today, however, heâs sporting black jeans that hug his legs without looking like he stole a pair of his sisterâs pants. His shirt is a white, long sleeve Henley and tight against his thin body. I never knew what his body looked like before last week, but itâs impressive. Not Liamâs-muscles impressive, but his artâitâs beautiful. His hair is poking out and curly under the black beanie heâs wearing. He has his hands shoved into his pockets, but Iâd bet money he has rings on and his nails painted black. Him and Liam couldnât be more different, and thatâs why I tell myself itâs okay to look, Iâm admiring him because itâs not what I usually see. Thatâs all.
There is a sparkle in his deep eyes that registers like whatever the step before hatred would be. Chase swears heâs just a grumpy guy, but I feel like itâs more I make him grumpy. Not sure why though.
âGlad you could make it.â Chase is the first to acknowledge him with a usual bro hug. It doesnât look very usual with Grimm though, heâs not an affectionate guy, I donât think.
Liam kisses my neck before turning to greet his roommate the same way Chase did. He keeps one arm around my shoulders, so when he pulls Grimm in, my face ends up somewhere between Liamâs pec and the side of Grimmâs arm.
I notice how Grimm seems more reluctant to be pulled into Liamâs body than Chaseâs. But itâs probably because Liam keeps me attached to his body like a parasite the whole time.
There is something familiar about him, but Iâm not able to place my finger on what it is.
